Our Church’s faith and order committee has been working for a few years on ‘What is the Spirit saying to the churches?’. Material was presented at the General Assembly in 2014 and again in 2016, and after the 2014 Assembly there was also a wide-ranging consultation with local congregations around the URC.
This edited version of the 2016 material sums up the committee’s message. Our Church has a calling to live, a task to fulfil, a great God to serve, and grace sufficient for the journey ahead. We hope that people will find this message refreshingly positive. In some churches it may give resource material for preaching or discussion. We commend it to you, and commend you to God’s guidance, wisdom and love.
