Generous members of the United Reformed Church (URC) have helped to raise £15,000 to help those affected by the massive explosion in the port of Beirut.
The Beirut Hope Appeal was launched following an explosion of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate at the port of Beirut on August 4 which made 300,000 people homeless, , killed more than 200 people, wounded 6,000, and left an undefined number of people reported as missing.


"Christmas is a time, for those of us who can afford it, to put our hands in our pockets," says Stephen Tomkins, Editor of Reform magazine.
Following the end of the second coronavirus lockdown and the implementation of new tier systems and rules, the United Reformed Church (URC) Synod Moderators have been careful to check the guidance and legislative framework for England, Scotland and Wales.
The United Reformed Church (URC) holds within itself people with very different views on questions surrounding human sexuality. It recognises that as human beings maintaining differing convictions, we are united together in Christ “through God’s calling, not through personal choice”.
Determined to not let the coronavirus pandemic dampen festive spirits, the team at the Spire Church in Farnham has come up with a creative idea for the Christmas season.
